What is the new structure?
Campus and Young Adult Ministry will now be a component of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis. An Associate Director will be responsible for youth ministry, campus ministry and young adult ministry. Four youth ministry coordinators will serve different regions of the Archdiocese. Two campus ministry coordinators will be responsible for the ministry centers at Uof M- Dearborn and Wayne State University. Four Campus and Young Adult Ministry Coordinators will provide outreach to colleges and parish based young adult ministry in different regions of the Archdiocese.
When do all these changes take place?All the staff changes and regional assignments will be announced on November 20, 2009. A transition period for new staff will occur from November 23 to December 31, 2009.
So what do we do right now?
You can continue to work with the campus or young adult minister assigned to your college/university or vicariate. They are continuing programming but with a special emphasis on leadership development. Those staff assigned to regions or UofM-Dearborn and WSU beginning November 23, 2009 will have all the necessary contact information for students and young adults involved in these ministries.
